[Contd…] B(h)anged in Jaisalmer

....Riding thro the night, on spine straight roads, stopping by the eerie nuclear stillness of the pokhran dark, jaisalmer dawned upon me at 5 AM....
A town steeped in the stillness of the morning and cold, right down to the bones, greeted me. It was a somewhat familiar greeting, being that as sons of the last generation of normal, 'Men will be men and not metrosexual' days, I was used to undertaking wild journeys (some other day, I'll write on the truck ride to nowhere).
At 5 am, the town was asleep, Jaisalmer was not. It hooked me. I liked the air, it didn't let me cover the lack of sleep the night before. A series of discussions with touts and friends of friends and referrers later, we landed our bed (it was just about that)
At 6 am, I could not hold the curiosity back. Camera in hand, I started walking around town and came upon the Govt. Authorized Bhang shop. It would open in about 30 minutes and I was thrilled at the prospect of getting my dose of the nectar…(to be continued)
